The Unexpected Possibility of ABLE
When I first began exploring the NASA coordinates that spell UNSTOPPABLE, I was focused on the entire word.
The goal seemed straightforward. Identify the locations, plan the trips, and gradually work toward completing the journey. Like many people, I immediately focused on the destination rather than the individual steps required to reach it.
Over time, however, something unexpected happened.
As I evaluated the various locations, I began identifying destinations that felt realistic, meaningful, and achievable under my current circumstances. Some locations appeared more practical than others. Some aligned naturally with existing travel plans. Some could be reached with the support of trusted friends. Others offered the right balance between adventure and accessibility.
As I started placing those destinations on a map, I noticed something I had not anticipated.
Several of the most likely early destinations would spell another word.
ABLE.
The realization caught me by surprise.
Long before the journey reaches UNSTOPPABLE, it may first pass through ABLE.
The more I reflected on that possibility, the more meaningful it became.
For many people living with chronic illness, disability, uncertainty, or major life disruption, one of the first questions that emerges is not whether they are unstoppable.
It is whether they are still able.
Able to travel.
Able to adapt.
Able to pursue goals.
Able to contribute.
Able to keep moving forward.
Health challenges have a way of forcing people to reevaluate assumptions they once took for granted. Activities that once seemed routine may require additional planning. Goals may need to be modified. Timelines may need to be adjusted. Some opportunities become more difficult to pursue, while others require entirely new approaches.
Yet the presence of limitations does not automatically eliminate possibility.
In many cases, it simply changes the path.
That idea sits at the heart of The Unstoppable Journey.
The objective has never been to pretend that obstacles do not exist. The objective has been to continue moving forward despite them. Sometimes that forward movement occurs through major accomplishments. Other times it occurs through small decisions that gradually build momentum over time.
Perhaps that is why the word ABLE resonates so strongly with me.
Before someone becomes unstoppable, they often need to rediscover what remains possible.
They need to recognize what they can still do.
They need to build confidence through action.
They need to take the first step.
The destinations associated with A, B, L, and E may eventually become more than letters on a map. They may become reminders that progress does not begin with extraordinary achievements. It begins with the willingness to engage with the opportunities that are available today.
Whether the journey ultimately reaches every letter in UNSTOPPABLE remains unknown.
That uncertainty does not diminish the value of the adventure.
Because before the journey becomes UNSTOPPABLE, it may first prove something equally important.
It may prove that I am still ABLE.
